Installation view at the Corcoran Gallery of Art.  As
a continuing method of working I put myself in character as three real-life close friends of mine who are not artists, and work as I imagine they would work if they had become artists.  To the left is a "group show," the two watercolors farthest left in character as Valerie, two etchings center in character as Mark, and the large collage on the right in character as Alice.  The painted wall section suggests an imagined museum.  Throughout this website you may notice pieces titled, ... [In character as ...].  Those labels refer to this ongoing project.  For the artist's statement relating to this installation, please visit the "About the Artist" page.
As a study in how the three characters would function in the academic art world, I design a fake application to Yale's Masters of Art program for each one.  The installation involved three slide projectors flipping through each character's portfolio side by side, and underneath, their application paperwork, essays, and transcripts.
Invitation to a "documentary" and "group exhibit" featuring Valerie, Mark and Alice.  Image taken from the video Japanese Women Becoming Violent, in character as Alice, as seen on the Video page.  For more information please refer to the artist's statement in the About the Artist page.
